The Suzuki carburetor is actually a tube with an adjustable plate called throttle plate in the middle to control the air flow through the tube. There is a contraction in the tube called a venturi tube, where a vacuum is formed. This contraction part has a measuring hole from which fuel can be sucked by vacuum.

What problems you may encounter when using Suzuki carburetor?

Failure of starting enrichment device. In order to improve the starting performance, the Suzuki carburetor is specially equipped with a starting enrichment device. The motorcycle starting enrichment device mainly has two structural forms, which are, choke mechanism and bypass thickening system.

There is low idle speed of Suzuki carburetor. The phenomenon of low idle speed is that the engine can start but cannot run stably, and the engine will shut down after a while.

The incorrect starting method for Suzuki carburetor basically appears in the use of the starting enrichment device. Do not use the starting enrichment device. This is caused by the incomplete understanding of the functions of the motorcycle. Even if the starting enrichment device is used at room temperature, the starting performance will be greatly improved.

Unstable idle speed refers to that after the engine is warmed up after running for several minutes, the idle speed fluctuation of the Suzuki carburetor is greater than ± 100 rpm. When the oil passage or airway of Suzuki carburetor idle system is blocked or leaked, the oil supply of idle oil system is thin or thick, resulting in unstable idle speed of the engine.

What is tempering of Suzuki carburetor?

If the owner does not find Suzuki carburetor tempering out earlier, it will affect the performance of use.

The Suzuki carburetor tempering means that when the engine is running, the flame suddenly returns from the air inlet pipe to the Suzuki carburetor, resulting in explosive combustion. In essence, the fuel in the cylinder is still burning at the later stage of the engine working stroke without burning up. At this time, the inlet valve is opened, and the combustion flame meets with the fresh mixture entering the Suzuki carburetor for violent combustion and makes a sound. This is one of the common faults in the use of the engine. If it is not eliminated in time, its performance will be affected.

When the engine increases the speed sharply from idle state, the Suzuki carburetor transition is not good, making the mixture lean. The combustion speed of lean mixture is slow. During the combustion process, a large part of oil-gas mixture is still burning after the piston reaches, which may even delay until the beginning of the intake process of the next cycle. At this time, the residual gas flame in the cylinder meets the new oil-gas mixture in the intake pipe when the intake and exhaust valves are overlapped and opened, and burns and explodes in it, resulting in backfire of the intake pipe. In severe cases, this tempering goes all the way to the throat of the Suzuki carburetor, or even burns the throat.

How to troubleshoot Suzuki carburetor?

The oil inlet passage of Suzuki carburetor is blocked. Open the Suzuki carburetor float chamber and check whether it drives the oil inlet needle valve to fall when the float falls. If the needle valve does not move with the float and is still closely combined with the needle valve seat, it can be judged that the adhesion between the needle valve and the valve seat causes the blockage of the oil inlet channel. It is generally caused by the condensation of gasoline colloid between the needle valve and the valve seat. It can be cleaned with alcohol or acetone.

Remove the float and needle valve, connect gasoline from the Suzuki carburetor oil inlet pipe, and observe the outflow of gasoline from the valve seat. If there is no gasoline outflow, the oil inlet path is blocked, and compressed air can be blown from the oil inlet pipe for treatment.

In addition, the blocked oil circuit indicates that a large number of impurities enter the Suzuki carburetor. The root cause is the failure of gasoline filter. It is necessary to check the gasoline filter while cleaning the Suzuki carburetor.
